City Council Vacancy
The City of Bay Village will have a vacancy on City Council beginning January 1, 2021 for the office of at-large councilperson for the term expiring on December 31, 2021.
The vacancy shall be filled by appointment by a majority vote of the remaining members of Council. If the vacancy be not so filled within thirty (30) days, the Mayor shall fill it by appointment within thirty (30) days of expiration of Council's time period for appointment. Such appointee shall hold office for the unexpired term of the member in whose office the vacancy occurs. Section 2.4 of the Bay Village Charter.
To be qualified, the applicant shall have been for at least one year prior to his or her appointment and during his or her term of office shall continue to be a resident of the municipality and a qualified elector thereof. A member of City Council shall not hold any other public office, be an employee of the City of Bay Village, the Bay Village Board of Education (Bay Village City Schools), or the County of Cuyahoga, except as otherwise provided in this Charter or ordinance and that of Notary Public or membership in the State Militia or Reserve Corps of the United States. "Qualified elector" means a person having the qualifications provided by law to be entitled to vote. O.R.C. 3501.01.

Applications will be accepted from December 9, 2020 until December 23, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. Applications received after that date and time will not be considered.
