Animal Control

The Police Department employs an Animal Control Officer whose primary job is to enforce Bay Village animal-related laws under Section 505 of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Bay Village.  The Animal Control Officer’s responsibilities include following up on domestic animal complaints, maintaining the kennel for stray dogs, and assisting the public with problems concerning wildlife.  

Animal Control Officer Mark Adkins

In 2017, Mark Adkins was hired as an Animal Control Officer.   ACO Adkins splits his time between the City of Bay Village and the City of North Olmsted.  ACO Adkins is a nationally certified Animal Control Officer with over 15 years of experience. Previously, ACO Adkins was an Animal Control Officer for the City of Las Vegas and has experience as a K-9 Explosive Detection Handler.
