Transportation services are available for Bay Village residents 60 years or older and disabled residents Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Vehicle has wheelchair lift available. Appointments are scheduled 24 hours to 3 months in advance. Prior registration is required. There is no fee for this service, but donations are encouraged. Transportation available to:
- Shopping
- Banking
- Appointments: medical and personal
- Scheduled mall trips
Transportation Policies:
- Transportation to medical appointments will be provided within a reasonable distance of Bay Village whenever possible.
- When making medical appointments, ask how long you can expect to be there so that we may schedule the return. Request the address of the office because some doctor's have more than one location.
- If you will not be ready by the scheduled return time, please call the office so that we can reschedule the return.
- All appointments are confirmed the work-day prior to appointment. If not confirmed, call 899-3410 by 9:00 a.m. day of appointment to confirm.
- Monthly mall trips will be scheduled and posted in the Senior Newsletter, at the Knickerbocker Apts. and in the van. Appointments are necessary.
- Non-medical appointments may be scheduled in or within 5 minutes of Bay Village.
- Scheduled stops only.
- No tipping or smoking.
- Seat belts must be worn.
- Wheelchair passengers MUST have an escort. Wheelchair passengers must follow the driver's instructions.
- Any passenger requiring personal assistance must provide their own escort who must board at the same stop or be at pick up and drop off location.
- The driver CANNOT leave the vehicle to escort passengers to appointments.
- If Bay Schools are closed due to bad weather, all non-essential trips will be canceled. If the vehicle is not operating because of weather or mechanical problems, passengers will be notified by telephone.
- Cancellation procedure: If it is necessary to cancel your appointment, please cancel by calling (440) 899-3410 as soon as possible any time day or night (voice mail messages are appreciated).
- Donation boxes are in all vehicles. Please donate your fair share. Checks also accepted.
