Police and Fire

Fire:

The Division of Fire is dedicated to the protection of the lives and property of its citizens through excellence in fire suppression; emergency medical services and fire safety education. The Fire Division also staffs a certified underwater rescue unit and is part of the Westshore Hazardous Materials Response Team. Throughout the year, the Division of Fire conducts informative tours of its facility for school groups and private individuals, trains residents in life-saving Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation and escorts Santa Claus through the streets of Bay at Christmas time. Routine operations include maintaining their equipment and facility, training for proficiency and certification, flushing fire hydrants, mercury disposal and testing for ozone concentrations.

Fire hydrants are flushed out annually beginning in the first week of May. Depending on weather conditions the process usually takes 4-6 weeks.

Police:

The men and women of your safety forces exist for one thing, which is to "serve and protect". The safety forces provide inspection services to assist our residents with security and fire safety issues.

The Division of Police provides for the safety of our residents through aggressive law enforcement, public awareness programs, citizens police academy, DARE, and many other educational programs.
