The Building Department and Service Department are here to serve the residents of Bay Village by enforcing the Ordinances of the City of Bay Village and the Building Codes of the State of Ohio in order to protect the property values.

The Building Department is located on the ground level of City Hall, 350 Dover Center Road, and may be reached by telephone (440) 899-3400 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

A large number of contractors are registered to work in Bay Village and are required to furnish evidence of insurance for bodily injury and property damages. In addition, licenses are issued by the Building Department for each trade of persons acting in the capacity of a contractor engaging in heating and/or air conditioning, electrical, plumbing or sewer building work. Prior to entering into a contract with persons in specific trades, contact the Building Department to assure contractor carries valid Bay Village registration.
