Program - Oliver Hazard Perry, Hero of the Battle of Lake Erie, a Life of Courage and Honor

Mary Louise Jesek Daley, local historian, will describe the life, death and legacy of Oliver Hazard Perry, the hero of the Battle of Lake Erie. In this year of the 200th Anniversary of the death of Perry, we look even deeper to understand how he became a hero, why the Navy still honors him so greatly, and why we see him as a hero. He is more than the Battle of Lake Erie. He is a man of his time and place and from him we can learn what it means to live a life of courage and honor.

Admission is free for Bay Historical Society members. If you are not a member, a $5 donation is requested when you arrive at the potluck/meeting. Membership is encouraged and annual fee is $10 for students, $25 for individuals and $35 for families.
