Emergency Communications Seminar
Monday, July 30th
From 7:30-9:30 p.m.
At the Bay Village Police Station, 28000 Wolf Rd. in the Community Room
Who should attend? Any and all residents of Bay Village and those within a 10-mile radius of Bay Village.
This seminar is designed for anyone who is concerned about not being able to communicate with their families and fellow residents during a long-term power outage…..when cell phones, home phones, and computers are no longer available. Jim Kettren, a long-time resident and an auxiliary police officer in Bay, will discuss what life without electricity would be like, and encourage everyone to consider becoming part of a disaster-preparedness CB radio club, which he is now forming. This radio club (BayComm) has the support of Westshore CERT and the Bay Village Disaster Preparedness Team. Anyone over the age of 18 will be considered for membership after submitting an application, which will be available at the seminar. Minimal radio equipment will be recommended for purchase during the meeting, if you don't currently own a CB.
