Assistant to the Director
Full-time and Part-time

The City of Bay Village is currently hiring for a full-time and a part-time Assistant to the Director for the Building Department.  These positions will be scheduled Monday through Friday.

Under the direction of the Building Director, the Assistant will provide a variety of routine and complex clerical, administrative and technical work for the Director.  This includes the regular monitoring of certain critical and confidential areas of the City's business to ensure that management is aware of the potential or pending issues.  This position serves as a liaison between the department and other City personnel, Council members, residents and the public in general.

Requirements: Minimum high school diploma (Associate Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or Finance preferred; Paralegal background/experience a plus), with 2-4 years of work experience in public sector (preferred) or private sector related fields. 
Ability to type and operate modern office equipment (phones. Copier, fax, scanning, etc.) with emphasis on computer operation capabilities including Microsoft Word (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc.)
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues with discretion and sound judgment.
Ability to make sound decisions using independent judgement.
Ability to research problems, collect and organize information and data and summarize in reports.
Ability to carry out projects and assignments with minimal supervision.

FINANCE DEPARTMENT

Receptionist/Clerk (Part-time)

The City of Bay Village is currently hiring for a part-time Receptionist/Clerk for the Finance Department.  This position is responsible for providing general finance related clerical duties and personal and/or telephonic assistance to visitors, outside callers and residents.

This position is scheduled 12-16 hours per week. 
The shifts are varied Monday through Friday between 8:30am-12:30pm or 12:30pm-4:30pm

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in an office environment responsible for providing general clerical and administrative services.

LAW DEPARTMENT

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (Part-time)

The City of Bay Village is currently hiring for a part-time Administrative Assistant for the Law Department.  This position will be scheduled Monday through Friday, the hours will be flexible between 8:30am-4:30pm.

The Administrative Assistant provides clerical and administrative support primarily to the Law Director, other professional members of the Law Department and secondarily to the Mayor's Office and various City departments as needed.

COMMUNITY SERVICES

 SENIOR CENTER ACTIVITIES MANAGER

The City of Bay Village is currently hiring for a part-time Senior Center Activities Manager. 

Reporting to the Director of Community Services this bargaining unit position is responsible for coordinating, implementing and overseeing the various activities and trips offered through the Dwyer Center.

This position is scheduled 20 hours per week. 

The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of work experience in private or government recreational, educational, cultural, healthcare and/or wellness environments that provide activities, programs, assistance, etc. to the public. Experience with senior citizens a plus.

SERVICE DEPARTMENT

SPECIALIST II

The City of Bay Village is currently hiring for a full-time Specialist II for the Service Department.  Under general direction from the Public Works Supervisor, the Specialist II works in all areas of the Service Department to provide services to the residents of Bay Village including street repair, refuse collection, sewer maintenance, leaf collection, snow and ice removal and all other duties as assigned.

Qualified applicants must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid State of Ohio Commercial Driver's License-Class B. Must be able to lift 50lbs, be punctual and reliable, and able to work in all types of weather conditions.  A valid State of Ohio Commercial Driver's License-Class A with tanker endorsement is preferred.

This position is a bargaining unit position and the starting rate of pay is $22.15 per hour.

PUBLIC WORKS SUPERVISOR

The City of Bay Village is currently hiring for a full-time Public Works Supervisor for the Service Department.  This exempt level position will be reporting to the Director of Public Works and Properties and will be responsible for supervising and scheduling the daily operations, personnel and activities of the Service Department. 

The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of related work experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years supervisory or Leadman experience, and a proven ability to lead and direct staff members.

POLICE DEPARTMENT

SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD

The City of Bay Village Police Department currently has an opening for a School Crossing Guard.

This part-time position is responsible for engaging children in the community during their route to and from school while encouraging safe behaviors and proper street crossing techniques at marked intersections during school opening and closing hours.

Must be able to work in all weather conditions.  Ability to alternate between standing and walking for up to two hour intervals.

POLICE DEPARTMENT - DISPATCHERS Part-time

The City of Bay Village is currently hiring for part-time Dispatchers.

This position is responsible for coordinating communications between patrol officers, police supervisors, the public and other emergency service agencies through the operation of the Police Department's office and communication equipment and systems. This position is also responsible for monitoring jail operations, greeting and attending to visitor needs and inquiries and performing general administrative duties including documenting the activities of the Department and completion of reports.
